A reminder on homework: Please finish your second reading of "Cask," complete the questions in the margin of your workbook and complete your Double-Entry Journal (DEJ). Remember, for your DEJs, you should be doing about 1 - 2 quotes per page at a minimum and you are focusing on irony, mood and imagery (sensory details).

What Should I Bring to My Final Exam?
Here's a list of items to bring with you to the final exam tomorrow:
1) A Pencil
2) Independent reading book
3) Your English notebook (we will be using it after the exam)
4) The "Probable Passage" handout we worked on today in class.
5) Any extra credit you want to turn in.
***Remember - the study guide for the final exam is in the "View Only" folder in Google Drive.

Final Exam Study Guide

I just put the study guide for your final exam in the "View Only" folder in Google Drive. You can also access it by clicking HERE. I will be passing out copies of the study guide on Tuesday in class, but I thought you ambitious, study-ahead people might appreciate getting it early.

Hi All,
A couple of important things to note:
1) The margin questions and DEJ for the "Scarlet Ibis" is due tomorrow. We will NOT be spending time in class completing the reading and journal. When you walk in the door tomorrow, you should be ready to discuss the symbolism and theme of the story.
2) I pushed back the due date of the Book Review till Tuesday, 01/22. Since I am giving you a few extra days - NO LATE ASSIGNMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED!
3) Wednesday, 01/23 (the day of your final exam), will be the last day to turn in any extra credit work.

It has been quite a while since my last post! I wanted to remind you that your second book review is due on Friday. Instructions for the assignment can be found in the "View Only" folder in Google Drive and you can also submitt your work to me through Google Drive. Remember to name your assignment "Period_YourLastName_BookReview" (ex. 1_Davenport_BookReview) and share it with me using my gmail address of jdavenportplhs@gmail.com.
Also - extra credit is due no later that the day of your final exam, NEXT WEDNESDAY (01/23/13). No Exceptions!
